Fill Up on Fresh Sushi This Winter

Eating cold, uncooked meals might seem a little odd in the winter months when all you want to do is bury yourself in a duvet and gobble porridge whilst watching Christmas specials on the telly! But your body wants more than just warmth in the chilly months. Did you know fresh sushi is PACKED with vitamins, minerals and healthy fats that can boost your immune system, give you the extra energy you need for winter and satisfy your taste buds too!

According to Men’s Health, Canadian scientists recently carried out a study to compare the anti-carcinogenic properties of thirty-three different fruits and vegetables. But those that ranked especially high, as turns out, tend to be the least likely to find their way onto your winter dining list (apart from Brussels sprouts!) Sushi menus are packed with super-healthy fresh veggies and fruits that have exceptionally beneficial dietary properties – avocado, pickles, French beans, cucumber and delicious immune-system boosting chillies!

Avocado
One of our favourite sushi London ingredients at all our locations and a staple in any Japanese restaurant, avocados provide around twenty different nutrients, including B vitamins, fibre, potassium, vitamin E and folic acid. Did you know avocado actually helps you absorb more nutrients from the other foods you eat too? When you add avocado to your meal, it helps your body to absorb fat-soluble nutrients more effectively.

Immune System Boosts
Keeping coughs and colds at bay all winter is a huge concern for all of us (we hate anything that slows down our sushi delivery business!), and did you know sushi ingredients can help boost your natural defences against the dreaded winter sniffles? Ginger is a natural antiseptic, aids digestion and gives your immune system and nice kick too! Wasabi is similar – it has great antibacterial properties and is rich in lovely immune-boosting vitamin C!

Raw Fish
Omega-3 fatty acids are seriously good for keeping your heart healthy. Eating sushi two or three times a week has been shown to cut the risk of heart disease significantly. And did you know plenty of fresh omega-3 fatty acids can also boost your mood and overall emotional well-being?
Our delivery and takeaway sushi central London business is all about freshness, and it doesn’t get much fresher than YouMeSushi fresh fish!
But it’s not just cold Japanese food that can offer lots of lovely winter nutritional benefits. Have you tried our hot dishes? They’re packed with freshly cooked fish, meat, vegetables, fruits and healthy carbohydrates!

Miso Soup
Have you ever thought about replacing your winter morning coffee with a cup of miso soup? Miso soup is a stimulant with no side effects. It contains B vitamins, protein, iron and antioxidants, and (you guessed it) aids digestion too! Miso soup is an essential ingredient in warming Japanese noodle dishes – a must for Japanese food fans looking for some tasty nourishment and hot food!
